Just for Clicks Audible Audio Edition Kara McDowell Katie Schorr Audible Studios Books Reviews

  • I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy from the publisher. JUST FOR CLICKS is a funny, romantic look at life behind the mommy blog--with a twist in the middle you won't see coming. Recommended for teen readers and anyone who has been known to peruse a lifestyle or mommy blog a time or two. After I finished the advance copy, I had to order a final version copy for myself.

The packaging from was great, the book arrived in perfect condition.
  • This review is NOT for the content of the book, for I couldn't begin to tell you what the content of the book was. The font is minuscule, and unable to be adjusted. The font button on my Paperwhite was greyed out. I contacted customer service for advice. Together we deleted and re-downloaded the file. Rebooted my . Deleted the book from my account entirely and re-purchased it. None of that helped. I also tried downloading it onto other s I own. On the 2nd Generation (the really old, chunky white one with 3G and the toggle switch) it had the same problem. On my other (no keyboard, no touch) the book shows up sideways. It's not quite as small, but it cannot be rotated right side up. There's just something wrong with the file. No other reviewers have mentioned it, so I thought I'd put it out there. I will check back for an update and adjust my review as appropriate.
  • I loved this book so much, I read through it in two days. Since birth, Claire's and Poppy's lives have been documented online by their mom with her mom blog and social media presence—something that became a family business. While Poppy wants to capitalize on that success with their own vlog and reality show, Claire is sick of the spotlight and online trolls that come with it. When new boy Rafael sits with Claire at lunch one day, it's her chance to have someone get to know her without having read about her entire life online; it's her chance to really be seen. There were so many things to love about this book. I LOVED the slow-burn romance. Kara McDowell is a master at it. I loved the questions it raises about social media and its roll in our lives. I loved the family dynamics—both the twin dynamics and the mother-daughter relationship that had me in tears by the end. This book gave me all the feels I cried, I actually laugh out loud, and my stomach flipped over the YA romance so many times throughout the book. I can't wait to see what comes next from this author. She's one to watch!!
  • Bought this book on recommendation from a friend. Wanted to give to my high school daughter, but decided to preview it first. I was immediately engrossed in the story. Great character development, interesting storyline, relevant topics, some twists and turns, and a great ending. This book would make an awesome gift for a young person who is wading through this crazy world. It tackles bullying, social media, privacy, complex family relationships, and peer pressure in an interesting and entertaining way. I felt that although high school was 30 years ago for me... I can relate to several of the characters. Cant’t wait for the next book from this author.
  • I’m shocked that “Just for Clicks” is a debut novel. I could hardly put this book down. The characters are realistic, fun and human. Share Claire’s frustration of living her mother’s vlog of Claire and her fraternal twin sister Poppy. Poppy loves the internet, social media, fame and clothing and cosmetics provided by sponsors. Claire haters this life but doesn’t want to disappoint Poppy or her mom. However Claire learns to really live when she meets handsome Rafael when her phone is broken. Then Claire discovers her mom’s diary and eventually meets her kidnapper from years ago in a surprise twist. Great read
  • What a great book! I loved looking at the darker side of being instafamous, yet it was never too heavy or heavy-handed, but balanced out the heavier topics with the fun and lightness so well! I loved Claire and Poppy and the family dynamic, and I loved all the swooning. <3
  • Pulled me in quickly. I was totally invested in the characters! I'm a not-young adult who likes YA books anyway. 😀 I wasn't sure about Claire's mom at first, but sit tight and watch her character unveil some layers.
  • format is in a tiny font and it won't let you change the font size, plus the print looks faded instead of black. I didn't make it through the first chapter because it was so hard to see.
